Hardwood floors, a crisp white table top, a perfectly foaming cappuccino in a red ceramic mug, me and my laptop, and skype. In the beginning, when things felt new, fresh and very uncertain I would go to a cafe and talk with my new friend, Zoe a brilliant and beautiful illustrator. I cannot remember for the life of me how we initially connected, but I’m happy we did. We would sit in different countries but in the same time zone, excited that we had someone to chat to while we worked. She, in Frankfurt and I in Den Bosch, our friendship grew over the internet.
And then one day she mentioned she was moving to London, I was to a little heartbroken that she wouldn’t be in my timezone anymore, but also jealous she was moving to such a wonderful city. Then I mentioned I was traveling to London for an engagement session and she mentioned that she wanted me to document their love of 5 years. We met in a cafe with hardwood floors, a crisp white table top, two perfectly foaming cappuccino in a white ceramic mugs finally meeting in real life. We chatted about our travels, living in a new place, trials and tribulations, owning our own businesses, and our love for London.
And then her love, Steve also a brilliant creative, showed up and I photographed their love in the district of Angel, London. Couples who travel the world together, who encourage and support, love creative ventures, and mostly enjoy cuddling next to one another are my favourite! Thank you Zoe & Steve for letting me document yours!
