Lisa & Josiah | Engagement Photos in London

A decade long friendship that over time changed into an easy going love for one another. A love filled with discussions about anything and everything. A love full of support and encouragement that when he mentioned that he wanted to use his creative skills to create beautiful and delicious meals, she told him go for it; go for the best. A love with an abundant amount of dedication and passion that when he decided to pack his bags and move to London to attend Le Cordon Bleu, she jumped in head first with him and started preparing for the next stage in their relationship – a long distance one.

And even though they were apart, their love never faltered but grew in abounding measures through emails, facetime, skype, and little love packages sent to one another. Then finally she bought a ticket to visit him, and he started planning. After a long flight from Vancouver she arrived in London and knew that no matter how much time apart they spent from each other the feeling his arms around her is like coming home. So he whisked her off to Paris in front of the Eiffel Tower, and asked her “Will you stop being my girlfriend, and become my wife?”

A love that is passionate, dedicated, and supportive is all she could ask for, but she got more than that. One who knows her, wants the best for her, and will do everything in his power to provide everything for her, she squealed “Yes!” And the next day, the newly engaged Lisa & Josiah met me on Oxford Street in London, and we took their engagement photos!

Ilina & James | Couples Photo Session in Amsterdam.

Ilina & James are some of the coolest people, ever! Their story is awesome, both originally from other countries, Scotland & Russia, but happened to meet while living in Chicago and now living their dream life here in Amsterdam. They originally met while enjoying a DJ and, in Ilina’s words, she saw him across the room and grabbed him. I’m so glad she’s never let him go cause they are perfect together!

They are crazy about each other and love being in your presence. They enjoy spending time together at local cafés, reading their favourite magazines, listening to new djs and upcoming music, as well as walking around beautiful Amsterdam.

So that is exactly what we captured: them doing what they love most, together! Thank you Ilina & James for grabbing onto each other and never letting go.

Every couple has a story and every story is unique, like the finger prints that we entwine when our hands touch. Our imprint on the other, holding, touching. Ours. And it’s our job as photographers to find out that story, and then to document it. Our two favourite parts!

Nele & Benjamin were selected as the couple to do a stylized love shoot with us while we mentored a former bride & groom on starting their own business once they move to Canada. It was such a fantastic weekend in Belgium while talking about business, travel, and love. Each topic getting my heart pumping and my mind racing with ideas. Then on the last afternoon together, we met with Nele & Benjamin and rocked out their love shoot on the streets of Antwerp where the sun shone, the rain poured down, and the wind blew on our faces.

Nele & Benjamin, thank you for sharing your story, for letting it unfold in front of our lenses and for being willing to let your love shine!

As I walked arm in arm, down the tiled aisle, I felt my feet moving faster than my father’s. He lingered in the moment while all I saw was the face of my groom up ahead and wanted to be as close to him as possible. As I was given over by my parents into his awaiting hands, my hand gently resting in his, my heart fluttered. Here, I was finally here!

We stood in front of family and friends, his glistening eyes staring into mine as we said our vows. I can’t remember what we said cause all I remember thinking was “I want to kiss him, now. To make him mine.” Moments that felt like a lifetime passed until finally I heard the priest say those magical words. Smooth, slightly parted, passionate. Lips together. One.

She sipped her coffee while she was being pampered with hair and make up. She was in silent contemplation, that this day she had been waiting and planning for was finally here. Once she was finally in her dress and twirling in front of her family, the realization hit her. Today, she was going to be saying “Forever” to the love of her life. Finally, it was time to see him before they headed off to the ceremony location, and it was there where she fell into him and he fell into her. Both excited that this day had come.

As the music played at The Broeker Huis , and Pauline Krom prepared to welcome the couple, they walked in together hand in hand. And then they vowed forever, to each other, in front of their closest family and friends. It was magical, loving, and so emotional. They held onto each other so tightly, never wanting to let the other go after their first kiss. There was not a dry eye in the garden.

Thank you, Erik & Marjan, for planning a wedding that was so personal and beautiful, it is one I’ll remember. And a special, huge thank you to my dear friend Jennifer Hejna, for asking me to photograph this amazing wedding with fer, it was such a fun day!
